We're excited to be running a UK competition to help raise the profile of NSPCC Number Day. Number Day is a fun, nationwide, maths-themed fundraising event that helps raise money to support the NSPCC. Every pound you raise will add up to help keep children safe.
To get the most from the day, use the resources, assembly plans and ideas available by registering on the NSPCC Number Day website. After you register, you’ll be provided with everything you need on the Number Day resources site to make your event a success. There is no fee to take part in NSPCC Rocks or participate in NSPCC Number Day, however, we do ask that schools make a donation to the NSPCC. You’ll find details about fundraising when you register to take part in Number Day.
Maths Circle Ltd will also make a £5000 donation to the NSPCC.
Our NSPCC Rocks competition is a fun and engaging way of boosting enthusiasm for learning the times tables in your school whilst also showing support for NSPCC Number Day.
The aim of the competition is to answer as many questions correctly as possible on the Times Tables Rock Stars platform. Make it a day to remember by holding a dress-up day or including the awesome NSPCC Number Day resources in your lesson plans.
Competition hours are limited to 7.30am to 7.30pm. A 60-minute limit playtime per player will also apply... once a player goes beyond 60 minutes between 7.30 am and 7.30 pm on Friday 4th February, they will still earn coins but will no longer earn points towards the competition. Those 60 minutes do not need to be played in one block - they can be spread throughout the competition hours. NSPCC Rocks is organised in aid of the NSPCC.
We’re so excited you’ve signed up to our NSPCC Rocks competition, but don’t forget to fundraise too. 1 in 5 children in the UK have suffered abuse, but you can help keep children safe by taking part in Number Day. Here are a few ideas of things your school can do!
On Friday, hold a dress up day where pupils dress as their favourite rock star and make a small donation to the NSPCC!
Children can pledge to answer a certain number of questions correctly on Times Tables Rock Stars by the end of the day and ask family and friends to sponsor them.
Ask children to dress up as a representation of their favourite number and make a small donation to the NSPCC!
To help get your school started we've provided you with a poster and parent letter to promote NSPCC Rocks. You can also download certificates and a PowerPoint by going to Tournaments > NSPCC Rocks.
By entering the NSPCC Rocks competition, it will be assumed that you have read these terms and conditions and that you accept them for and on behalf of your school.
